Nicotine addiction and patches

During my time as a quit smoking specialist I'd say that about 80-90% of my clients came to me after Nicotine Replacement Therapy (or NRT, which includes, patches gums, lozenges and inhalers) had failed to help them quit smoking.

Some of them did manage (at a struggle) but then ended up smoking again within a couple of months, the most common reason being stress.

So why is it then that nicotine patches and other such products fail? Well for a start we can see that they do not proveide adequate ways for you to reduce or deal with stress a.) when you're quitting, and b.) after you have quit. Nicotine products (which are basically no more than a replacement or substitute for your cigarette) only affect you chemicaly, they do not help you to beat or solve all the other problems you rely on smoking to beat.

Nicotine patches can't help ou relax, compose yourself, give you confidence, cure boredom, be a friend, give you pleasure or enjoyment, make you feel part of a group or get you out of an awkward situation - all things (and there are many, many more) that cigarettes do for you. So nicotine patches and other products do not help you deal with your psychological issues and reasons for smoking.

However the main reason why nicotine patches and other products don't work is because they actually contain MORE nicotine than cigarettes! The next time you are in a pharmacy, or pick up your own pack of gum, patches etc. and, have a look at how much nicotine there are in EACH patch and then the amount of nicotine in EACH cigarette or even EACK PACK of cigarettes. You'll probably be surprised.

In my guide to quitting smoking and with my cleints I spend quite a lot of time on this subject alone. This is because pharmaeutical companies try to trick you by 'weaning' you off cigarettes with their NRT products, when in fact they are actually giving you MORE nicotine than when you smoked!

If you're like most smokers, you've probably never really given much thought to how much money you spen on cigarettes. Yeah you know that you spend about $5 a pack, and it's only five Dollars, right?

But have you thought about how much you spend in a year or how much you have spent since you started smoking? Or what about how much of your hard earned money you will continue to litterally see go up in smoke for as long as you smoke?

If you then take this amount of money and figure out the kind of things that you COULD have spent that money on, then you may just begin to realise what smoking costs you.

Not only does a pack of cigarettes cost you $5 but it also costs you the $5 you will have to spend to get anothe item of your choosing. If you want a Cup of coffee and a doughnut it actually costs you $10 - because you spent your first $5 on a pack of cigarettes!

So you see every pack you smoke costs you double what you pay - as you have to do without that $5!

How To Quit Smoking With Hypnosis

Hi,

It's been a while since I last posted (I've been busy helping a few friends quit smoking and working on some new ideas!). Over the last couple of months I've heard a lot of people interested in learning how to quit smoking with hypnosis.

The main reasons why you and many other smokers may be interested in using hypnosis is that you've grown tired of nicotine patches and other such drugs. Although with the new drug Chantix out many people have gone down the drugs route once again. But personally I know that putting another drug in your body to help you quit smoking isn't necessarily an option for you!

Anyway, I've taught many smokers like you how to quit smoking with hypnosis in under twenty eight days or less, and it works - for several reasons. Firstly, there are no drugs involved. So your body does not have to adjust to another foreign substance. Secondly, your smoking addiction is at the very, very least 50% in your mind - drugs can't help you with that part!

You've got a lot of smoking habits which now run automatically (under the control of your subconscious mind, which you can't control) and make you smoke - even though you don't need a cigarette.

When you smoke when you are stressed, or need to calm down or when you need to concentrate or when you are bored (to name a very small list) it is not down to your physical addiction to nicotine, it is down to your mental addiction to smoking. Over time you've taught yourself that these situations can be remedied with a cigarette (eve though in the back of your mind you know that cigarettes cannot fix this problem).

This pattern of behaviour is now automatic and is deeply ingrained into your subconscious mind. And just like most smokers you've probably tried to quit using will power. But the problem is that will power is controlled by your conscious mind, while smoking is controlled by your subconcious mind. So no matter how strong your will power - it won't help you quit smoking!

You can learn how to quit smoking with hypnosis by understanding that through hypnosis you can access your subconscious mind and then remove your mental addiction to smoking. Drugs cannot stop you from wanting a cigarette when you are stressed or bored or in need of confidence. Hypnosis re-trains your mind to no longer rely on or need cigarettes.

But before you use hypnosis to quit smoking you need to learn and understand how nicotine affects you and make yourself aware of all the different things that make you smoke. Once you have this knowledge you can combine it with hypnosis and remove smoking from your life forever without the need for drugs, stress, cravings or withdrawal symptoms.
